Laternenzug
The Laternenzug (lantern parade) is the official start of the Tell Festival weekend. Watch the children of New Glarus as they parade through the streets Friday at dark. Following the parade, experience a taste of Swiss music by the New Glarus Kinder Chor in the Village Park.
Time:
Friday August 29, 2003 from 8:00 p.m. to approximately 9:00 p.m.
Location:
Downtown New Glarus
The parade assembles in the Railroad Street parking lot (near the information booth).
The parade ends at the Village Park near the park shelter.
Route:
From the Railroad Street parking lot (near the information booth),
west 1 block on Sixth Avenue,
north 1 block on First Street (center of the downtown),
west 1 block on Fifth Avenue,
north 1 block on Second Street,
east 1/2 block to the Village Park shelter.
